Persie Pee defies odds with his new reminisce single ‘Kumarimuka’

Zimbabwean singer and songwriter Persie Pee has hopped on to give his fans a taste of reminisce sound and a spike of modern lyricism in his new single “Kumarimuka”. Persie Pee Shatta as he is affectionately known as, first took to his social media platforms on friday to break the news.

“Kumarimuka” brings back to life the Chigiyo genre which is a reggae-like beat fused with traditional rhythms to produce a uniquely Zimbabwean original sound which is quite relatable to both the young and the elders who flourished socially during the Zig Zag era. Produced by Marley Production this unique piece in its generation is inspired by the present day Zimbabwe setup whereby many breadwinners leave their families behind to go and look for greener pastures elsewhere mostly in the Diaspora.

The popular groove band lead vocalist has also brought up a point of interest as he always has a sharp eye for social concern. He brings up awareness on the currently prevailing Covid 19 as he advices his wife and children to sick medical attention fast if illness befalls the family as it is now considered luck to survive this deadly virus and also reassures his spouse that she has to take over as he is going to bring something back for the families survival.

His last single “African Queen” released in 2020 was received very well as it even got reactions from some of Zim’s celebrated rappers like Stunner among others . You can stream “Kumarimuka” on
